Blackberry torch


Research In Motion (RIM) makers of smartphone name Blackberry,unleashed a brand spanking new phone on August 3.
The gizmo offers features similar to iphone and some unique touches.
Earlier Blackberry phone was targeted at business users.But Blackberry Torch is targeted at general consumer extending their base.
RIM has been working for very 16 months with At&T to generate Torch which would compete with smartphone from Apple and other competitors using android OS that are rapid gaining market share.RIM had earlier made two touchscreen rings,"Storm and Storm 2" though popular,but was criticised for buggy browser,Os and hardware.
RIm has updated its OS and Torch include this version known as OS 6.RIM has recently launched App store to attract developers to build program applications for their rings.
Torch includes both a keyboard and touchscreen.A new web browser.Its called a "Generation shift" from earlier blackberry claims AT&T.This new browser offers tabbed browsing.It also includes App World,app store unlike other Blackberry devices.
the Torch is slightly larger than the iPhone, even with the keyboard tucked in, and weighs 5.6 ounces to the iPhone 4’s 4.8 ounces.
The Torch has two times the input options of the iPhone: You can tap on a virtual keyboard on the 3.2-inch, 480 x 360 pixel display,or you can slide out the hardware keyboard preferred by most BlackBerry users, or you can use an optical trackpad to select menu items.
Rim has also added a brand spanking new search feature that not only queries calendar,email and apps on the gizmo,but also google and youtube.It has an Application Interface that lets developer to make other services .
